How special will be the Indian space station built by ISRO?
Space is limitless. It has always been a matter of curiosity for humans. Now the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has also geared up to explore the depths of space and the secrets hidden in it.

ISRO chief “Dr. K. Sivan” announced: After Chandrayaan-3 and Gaganyaan, India will set up its space station by the year 2029. Right now two space stations are working in space. One of these is the International Space Station (ISS) run in collaboration with the US, Russia, the European Union, and Japan, and the other is China’s Tiangong-2.
After all, what would India benefit from setting up its own space station in space? How many space stations are currently working in space? What is a space station? Let’s try to know the answers to all these questions…

What is Space Station?

A space station, also known as an orbital station or orbital space station, is a spacecraft that is the space office of a human crew (astronauts) in a fixed orbit for an extended period of time. . It is made to stay in space continuously so that astronauts from Earth can go there and do research. It does not have a major propulsion or landing system. Stations have docking ports to allow other spacecraft to dock to transfer crew and supplies.

How many space stations are active in space now?

Right now two space stations are active in space. One of these is being run with the joint cooperation of the US, Russia, the European Union, and Japan. It is called the International Space Station (ISS-International Space Station). The second space station belongs to China. Its name is Tiangong-2. But it is not fully active yet.
Right now the International Space Station (ISS) is the most popular. It was installed in the space in 1998. It is established in the lower orbit of the earth. These space stations are like a laboratory where space goes at regular intervals and experiments are done there.
The International Space Station weighs about 391,000 kg and has been taken into space by dividing it into several parts. In the year 1998, its first part was taken into space. It has giant solar panels that provide energy to the space station.
6 astronauts can stay in the ISS for about six months. This space station is orbiting at an altitude of 400 km from the earth. At a speed of 28,000 km per hour, the ISS completes one round of the earth in 90 minutes. Hundreds of astronauts including Kalpana Chawla, and Sunita Williams have lived in this space station.
In the ISS, the urine of humans and animals taken there for use is cleaned and used for drinking again. Due to this, there is no shortage of water there. You can also see it with the naked eye, if you want to track ISS with time at your location then email us or leave a comment below the post.

What is ISRO’s plan for Space Station?

ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) is working on a very cheap and special design. This space station will not be as big as the International Space Station but will be like a satellite. In this, 6 to 7 crew members can stay for 20 days or 1 month. The implementation of the project is expected to take 5-7 years. The Indian space station will also be set up at an altitude of 400 km from the earth.

Purpose of the space station:

Right now its purpose is to provide refueling facilities in spacecraft so that they can travel for a long time. Apart from this, the necessary equipment can also be sent from one vehicle to another in space from the earth. ISRO is working on such technology, with the help of which in the future humans can be sent from one spacecraft to another spacecraft.

Challenges to achieving the target to build an indigenous space station:

The biggest challenge of this mission is to develop the technology of space docking ie connecting two spacecraft in space. Without it, it is impossible for the space station to function.
Space stations are much heavier than normal satellites. Such a heavy payload cannot be launched into space at once, so the Space Station is launched by dividing it into small payloads. Then through the space docking technique, they are stressed among themselves.
Passengers going into space or support systems such as food, fuel, etc. are sent by the spacecraft that docks with the space station. This is a very fine technology and complex process. ISRO has not executed any such mission before, so this project will be very exciting for ISRO and every Indian.

How will India benefit from this mission?

In the modern era, every country is engaged in expanding its technology. This also includes space technology. Every country is trying to prove itself as the king of space in the home of space. In such a situation, the manned space station will not only help India to gain its supremacy in space, but it will also increase India’s ability to monitor the Earth manifold. India will be able to get good-quality pictures. India can easily see what it wants to see. In this way, India will be able to easily keep an eye on its enemy countries. This will also reduce the cost of sending repeated surveillance satellites into space.

Amazing facts about human space missions:

This is NASA in human spaceflight:

  • First, low-Earth orbit manned mission: 1958
  • First Manned Moon Landing Mission: 1969 (When ISRO was founded!)
  • First Space Station: 1973
  • Number of Stations: 2
  • Notable Station: International Space Station
  • Space station operation experience: 46 years
  • Number of manned missions so far: 226 (including 6 moon landings)
  • Strongest rocket: Saturn V (140 Ton LEO)
  • Current Human Spaceflight Program: Landing humans on the Moon again in 5 years and building a station near the Moon in 10 years, with a regular human presence on the Moon.
